BMW M3 (G80) by AC Schnitzer , the BMW M3 G80 now develops up to 590 hp and 790 NM

Which AC Schnitzer one thrills you more The BMW M3 or the M4? For tuners like AC Schnitzer, a new generation of BMW M3 and M4 is always a challenge. Because even if the base is constantly being developed, there is always room for further optimization. This is precisely what the BMW M3 G80 from AC Schnitzer is intended to demonstrate, for which the customization offer is ready.

Much more than just a few extra horses

AC Schnitzer is customizing the current BMW M3 (G80). The preparation includes an increase in power and an improved exhaust system, but also new chassis components and carbon components to improve the aerodynamic properties and give an even more brutal appearance .

The engineers at AC Schnitzer have been working on the new BMW M3. But they give the sporty sedan much more than just a few extra horses. And rightly so. Whoever has such a big kidney must also have great performance. The increase in power translates into 80 more horsepower and 100 more Newton meters. So from the standard 510 hp and 650 Nm of power, we move to 590 and 750 Nm of maximum torque.

The 510 hp and 650 newton meters of the BMW M3 Competition goes to 590 hp (434 kW) and 750 newton meters at AC Schnitzer. The low revs remain close to the series, but at high revs there is even more work for the already hard-working rear wheels

More downforce

AC Schnitzer intends to keep its feet on the ground with the M3 literally. The aero parts all around provide more downforce, both on the front and rear axle.

At the front, a new front splitter, which can generate up to 40 kilograms of lift, together with the Front Side Wings, ensures an aggressive appearance in the rearview mirror. Inserts for the hood and side deflectors are also included.

For the rear of the BMW M3 G80, AC Schnitzer offers a roof spoiler to draw attention, but three spoiler options are available for the trailing edge: the discreet rear spoiler already provides 20 kilograms of support without being too imposing. The rear of the M3 becomes significantly more extroverted with the Carbon Racing rear spoiler, which generates up to 50 kilograms of support. In a reinforced variant with the “Gurney Flap”, 70 kilograms of support at best press the rear onto the asphalt. According to AC Schnitzer, all values were calculated at a speed of 200 km/h.
For the exhaust system, there is a stainless steel muffler with carbon tips, which of course benefits the aesthetics but also the sound

To further influence the handling, AC Schnitzer offers two options on the chassis side. In both cases, the credo is: “It’s better to be fast than hard”. The suspension spring kit only lowers the front axle by 15 to 20 millimeters, the rear springs remain unchanged. It is also possible to mount the RS threaded frame with individual lowering on all sides. The result should be higher cornering speeds while maintaining comfortable everyday ability.

Finally, the 20-inch forged wheels help reduce unsprung weight. The optimizations continue with the AC Schnitzer wheels: the AC3 forged wheels are available in black or silver and should be significantly lighter than their factory counterparts. In addition, they are equipped with widened mixed tires of 285/30 R 20 at the front and 295/30 R 20 at the rear. AC1 wheels are also available in this version.

The package is completed with some cosmetic extras. There are of course some inscriptions, but also sideblades for the front, a spoiler kit for the front fenders and decorative elements for the hood. On request,

AC Schnitzer, the interior designer

AC Schnitzer, the interior designer, enhances the interior with aluminum parts and the in-house sports steering wheel. A special sports steering wheel is available as an option, whose material mix of alcantara and nappa leather with central branding definitely brings a racing atmosphere into the cockpit.

Which one thrills you more? The BMW M3 or the M4?

BMW M3, it’s cult

The BMW M3G80 has always been a very popular car for tuners. It’s no wonder that AC Schnitzer has launched an extensive program for the sports sedan.

BMW M4 G82 M Performance on a racetrack rather than on the public highway

The new BMW M4 Competition with rear-wheel drive and manual gearbox impressed in the tests. It was convincing with sensational times and handling. Can the M4 from AC Schnitzer do even better?

The fastest BMW ? The tuner AC Schnitzer is not satisfied with just that, this is the most powerful BMW M4 by AC Schnitzer for many years. Currently, the BMW record at the Sachsenring is in other hands (Lightweight M4: 1:29.73 min.), but AC Schnitzer is at least the fastest sedan with the M8 Gran Coupe (1:31,34 min.). You read that right, times have changed . It’s stuning what these sometimes heavy cars are able to compete with the sports cars.

AC Schnitzer BMW M4 Competition

AC Schnitzer is one of the first tuners to have upgraded the new M4. The objective is clear: to attack the crown. “AC-M 4600” is however only the first vintage, almost the first tests with the new material, before the great hunt for podiums. But as there is always something to be done when it comes to aerodynamics, AC Schnitzer engineers have developed an aerodynamic package for the sports coupe

Body kit

the front spoiler for 1,190 euros, a roof spoiler (399 euros) and a spoiler lip for the rear cover that costs 1,290 euros. In addition, there is a protective film for the rocker panels and the rear apron. In order to draw attention to the origin of the parts, stickers with the inscription AC-Schnitzer are also available for the sidewalls.

The colored engine optics are available from 535 euros. The additional control unit for 590 hp costs 5925 euros, including warranty.

Two wheel designs for the BMW M4

A 670-euro suspension kit, which lowers the M4 by 20 to 25 millimeters at the front and 15 to 20 millimeters at the rear, should optimize the mentioned driving dynamics. The various retrofit rims should also help in this regard. AC Schnitzer offers the AC1 (starting at 5,090 euros) and AC3 (starting at 8,190 euros) respectively in anthracite-silver paint, with the weighting of the shades varying depending on the model chosen. As an option, the wheels are available in gloss black paint. The dimensions – 10 x 20 inches for both axles with Michelin tires of 285/30 at the front and 295/30 at the rear – are identical.

However, there is already almost everything on board that makes it fast.

The twin-turbocharged six-cylinder engine already develops 590 hp instead of 510 hp thanks to an additional control unit. Later, it will be possible to reach 610 hp. To achieve a more raucous sound, the rear silencer was replaced by a Schnitzer part with four 110 millimeter diameter stovepipes.

For the design, there are front splitters, winglets, a roof spoiler and a rear spoiler with a gooseneck suspension. The standard adaptive chassis had to make way for an adjustable threaded competition chassis.

The wheel wells house lightweight, forged AC3s. Painted black, they measure 10 x 20 inches all around. The result is a wider front axle, threaded suspension, special guide arms for the rear axle, and Michelin’s compared to the series.

With the extra power and mechanical grip, the M4 accelerates extremely hard from the corners.
AC Schnitzer the car that adapts to any environment, is that a lap on the track works as well as strolling around town. No loud exhaust note, no annoying rocker panels and spoilers, no on-off acceleration. And the chassis doesn’t hurt your back either. But its preferred terrain is country roads and highways, in this case the Sachsenring

3.5 seconds to 100 km/h

The twin-turbocharged six-cylinder engine delivers its power with surprising regularity. Even near the rev limit, there is considerably more pressure than in the standard M4. 250 km/h is reached in the blink of an eye, but it takes a little longer to reach 290.

What does Launch Control say?

Thanks to the Launch Control and with warm Cup tires, a start almost without skating. Factory data indicates 3.9 seconds, the test car made 3.6 seconds, the AC Schnitzer is still a tenth faster.

Sound ? Clearly more manly than the one on the show.

Braided tubes, four 110 tubes with carbon, it doesn’t just sound like good music, it also makes sense.

More offensive perspective

The tuner provides a significantly more expressive body kit, composed in part of carbon parts, as well as a race frame that can be continuously adjusted in height and detent/compression.

The two-stage power increase is already part of the development. For 10,483 euros, AC Schnitzer galloped a total of 610 horsepower; that and for 6,209 euros the power was increased to 590 horsepower. The AC Shnitzer tuner installs both upgrades in the form of an additional control box, which is installed by plug-and-play.

AC Schnitzer builds its program for the new BMW M4 in two stages.

the upgrade starts in a very innocuous way with some external accessories and ends at one time or another with a rather offensive and expressive tuning style . Under the hood, in any case, the “noise” is now mandatory.
In two stages, AC Schnitzer increased the M4 to 590 or 610 horsepower. Which AC Schnitzer one thrills you more The BMW M3 or the M4?
