The carbon frames are handmade. The cutting and draping of the fabric layers, the curing process of the plastic matrix and the milling of the raw parts take several hours. The subsequent painting is a particular challenge: in order to enhance the undeniable depth effect of the carbon fabric, the components are painted several times. Each layer of paint must be dried and then sanded. After the last coat of lacquer has been applied, the carbon part is polished to a high gloss (except for the open-pore carbon versions). The carbon components are qualified according to the current BMW standard. This is the only way to ensure that the high requirements, for example with regard to aging and temperature resistance, are met without cracking or peeling of the substrate paint and yellowing of the matrix is avoided. This high degree of manual work and skilled effort is responsible for the price.
