Audi RS 3 Sportback turns into 500-hp RS3-R at ABT :
ABT’s latest Audi is called RS3-R, has 500 hp and is being offered in limited numbers to buyers looking for a fast compact car.
When it debuted in 2021, the Audi RS 3 immediately took the Nordschleife record for vehicles in the compact class. Those who are not yet satisfied can have the 400 hp (294 kW) standard engine optimized by Abt Sportsline in recent months.
Audi RS3-R Sportback from ABT
460 hp (338 kW) is the ultimate performance. But it would be a mistake to believe that the world’s largest tuner of Audi Group and VAG Group vehicles has already achieved the ultimate in the compact class. Indeed, the Allgäu company has decided to move up a gear with the RS 3.
With the ABT RS3-R Sportback, strictly limited to 200 units, the family-owned company is raising the bar even higher. It boasts 500 hp (368 kW) on its spec sheet. “But you shouldn’t wait too long to make an appointment with our car, because all the cars may soon be sold out,” says managing partner Hans-Jürgen Abt with a wink.
The ABT Power R :
The ABT Power R power boost uses a charge air cooler in addition to the mandatory AEC control unit. This combination not only provides the aforementioned additional 100 horsepower, but also increases the torque of the RS3-R by the same amount, so that instead of 500 Nm, a maximum of 600 Nm is now available.
Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is significantly improved by this increase in power: from 3.8 to 3.3 seconds. In addition, the exhaust system is now equipped with matte black, four-pipe stainless steel tips with a diameter of 95 millimeters.
ABT Special suspension springs
Special suspension springs and sport stabilizers ensure that the ABT RS3-R does not have to tighten the reins too much in tight corners. As an option, a full stainless steel V3 threaded sports chassis can be fitted. The latter is a real asset that allows more than just a variable lowering of 20 to 40 mm on the front and rear axles. Thus, rebound and compression are separately adjustable.
The aerodynamic package is made of exposed carbon with a glossy finish:
A special feature of the RS3-R is the standard regulated top speed increase to 300 km/h, which can be freely controlled with the new myABTApp app for Apple and Android devices. In addition, the power characteristic, and thus the charisma of the vehicle, can be adapted at any time to its own needs :
ABT ECO ,SPORT & RACE :
The range wavers between ECO , SPORT and RACE . Users can also view their vehicle’s performance data, such as the current power output or the coolant and intake air temperature.
In addition to the 500 hp, the in-house aerodynamic package is the main highlight of the RS3-R. It consists almost entirely of exposed carbon with a glossy finish. It includes the front lip, front flanges and mirror caps, as well as the rear apron and rear spoiler. Added to this are the fender inserts in gloss black.
ABT High Performance HR20 forged wheels :
The ensemble is highlighted by 20-inch ABT High Performance HR20 forged wheels with 245/30 R20 Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperSport R tires.
As a Special Edition model, the RS3-R of course offers more than just standard sportiness inside. One sits in seats ennobled with ABT and the RS3-R logo. An emblem plate with the inscription “ABT RS3-R 1/200” and the marked sill strips indicate the exclusive number of parts.
The visual performance is completed by the doorway lighting with the Abt logo, the floor mats with the RS3-R logo and the Start-Stop button cap. After all, an engine this powerful should come alive as it should.
A price of over 100,000 euros
Finally, there’s the price. A standard RS 3 Sportback is available from 62,000 euros, the sedan from 64,000 euros. The kit starts at 40,850.40 euros, including assembly. For the threaded chassis, you have to add another 2590 euros, and the three carbon options in the interior together amount to 3170 euros.
