The Audi RS Q8 is one of the flagships of the Audi Group. To perfect this vehicle even further, the engineers at Akrapovic have invested a particularly large amount of work. The result is something to be proud of: A top-class titanium exhaust system that noticeably reduces the weight of the standard exhaust system.
By optimizing the exhaust gas flow and reducing backpressure, this results in an increase in performance across the entire rev range. In the mid or upper rpm range, a throaty, non-boomy sport sound is released that will put a smile on any RSQ8 driver’s face. Finally, two beautiful carbon tailpipes extend from the rear of the vehicle.
Akrapovič’s latest product Audi RS Q8 :
This complete system consists of titanium rear mufflers and stainless steel connecting pipes to the standard particulate filter (all with ECE approval).
With the help of the optional Akrapovic Sound Kit P-HF1284 you can control the flaps via remote control and Akrapovic smartphone app. (The remote control is without approval). Akrapovič’s latest product is an innovative Evolution Line (Titanium) exhaust system, which has been specifically developed for the Audi RS Q8.
The extensive knowledge that Akrapovič has gained from working on 4.0-liter V8 engines has been used to develop this ingeniously shaped exhaust system that offers both sound and performance.
Akrapovic Audi RS Q8 (4M) Exhaust system Evolution Line Titanium :
The Evolution Line (Titanium) exhaust system is made entirely of lightweight titanium and features a central muffler with two side valves – the housings for both valves were cast in Akrapovič’s in-house foundry – and a set of connecting pipes with an Xpipe connector .
This configuration allows exhaust gases and pressure pulses from both sides of the engine to mix and create a rocking, powerful sound .
Akrapovič high-frequency racing soun:
The exhaust pressure pulses communicate in two areas of the exhaust system and generate unique sound patterns that ensure maximum Evolution Line (Titanium) enjoyment. On the one hand, the X-connection in the connecting pipe section of the exhaust system results in a specific Akrapovič high-frequency racing sound in the upper speed range, which is complemented by the deep and iconic Akrapovič rumble in the low to high speed range.
Carbon/titanium handcrafted exhaust :
This one goes through the rear muffler and creates a characteristic V8 purr that matches perfectly with the huge torque this engine can deliver.
There is also a comfort mode that allows the car to be driven in quiet moments behind the wheel without any unwanted noise.
The stunning design of the Evolution Line (Titanium) system is not only hidden underneath the car, but it also features carbon/titanium tailpipes that protrude from both sides of the rear of the RS Q8, as was the case with the Akrapovič system for the Audi RS6 C8 Avant and RS7 C8 Sportback.
The handcrafted exhaust pipes are dynamically shaped, with the carbon outer sleeve perfectly coordinated with the sandblasted and coated titanium inner lining to give this beautiful exhaust system a stunning finish.
It’s not just the design, visual appeal and breathtaking sound :
The exhaust system also features a performance upgrade, increasing power by 6.9 kW (9.4 PS) at 5,600 rpm and torque by 17.2 Nm at 2,500 rpm.
These values were recorded on Akrapovič’s in-house dyno after the Evolution (Titanium) line-equipped RS Q8 was tested against the same vehicle equipped with the Audi RS sports exhaust system in successive rounds of comparison. Weight was reduced by 43% compared to the Audi RS sport exhaust system .
The Akrapovič Evolution Line (Titanium) exhaust system is a plug-and-play product and, due to ECE approval, does not require the control unit to be adapted.
