Affalterbach SUV’S Colossus with 800 hp

A German tuner has taken on the 7-seater SUV’S from Mercedes. As always, the result is very spectacular and fast. The new Brabus 800 based on the GLS 63 AMG 4MATIC is one of the most interesting SUV’s on the market has an incredibly aggressive look, which means power and performance.

With the GLS, Mercedes has one of the largest and most luxurious SUVs on the European market. In its AMG version with 612 hp and 850 Nm four-litre biturbo V8, the 5.20-metre-long colossus is without doubt one of the most powerful representatives of its kind. You’re not impressed yet, you want more exclusivity and performance? Then it’s probably worth taking a look at the Brabus portfolio.

Extensive engine upgrade :

The Mercedes specialists from Brabus offer their Brabus 800 on the basis of various model series, including the GLS 63 4MATIC+ of the still relatively fresh second generation X167. Despite an unladen weight of more than 2.5 tonnes, it sprints to 100 km/h in just 4.2 seconds in its standard configuration and reaches up to 250 km/h, and even 280 km/h with the AMG Driver’s Package. But the eight-cylinder engine is capable of even more, as Brabus impressively demonstrates.

Refines the sound and the appearance

The team optimises the power unit with a pair of special turbochargers that operate at 1.6 bar boost pressure and also add its PowerXtra auxiliary control unit installed in a plug & play process. This boosts the engine to the 800 hp and 1,000 Nm that give the Brabus 800 its name. This means that the sprint to 100 km/h now takes 3.8 seconds, and the top speed is a locked 280 km/h. The complementary stainless steel exhaust system with flap control refines both the sound and the appearance.

Carbon body kit and forged wheels !

In terms of looks, Brabus also goes the extra mile and provides the GLS 63 with an extensive body kit made entirely of carbon: it includes, among other things, a spoiler lip as well as inserts for the front apron, a radiator grille with large side air openings and a diffuser.

Brabus 800 styling :

As a further highlight, the vehicle on display stands on Brabus Monoblock M “Platinum Edition” forged wheels in 10×24 inches with 295/35 ZR24 tyres. The additional lowering by about 25 millimetres is achieved by means of a control module for the factory AIRMATIC air suspension.

Brabus styling has never been more modest. And this is no exception. At first glance, the GLS exudes aggression and sportiness. At the front, we are greeted by a huge AMG-specific grille with the Brabus logo and additional air intakes on the side. The 24-inch Brabus wheels are also striking, as are the 4 exhaust tips at the rear. Most of the components are, of course, made of carbon fiber. The interior has also received some modifications. Many Brabus badges have made an appearance, as well as a lot of red accents and stitching.

Individual interior refinement :

As usual, Brabus rounds off the interior with a complete makeover in its own upholstery workshop. The finest materials such as mastic leather, Alcantara and various carbon trim elements are used.

Brabus technology, sophisticated art of engineering and custom craftsmanship

While the customer can always incorporate his or her own personal wishes when it comes to the colour scheme, the photo vehicle is characterised by finely perforated black leather with grey decorative stitching, topstitching in the “Arrow Wave” look and red accents. There are also details such as a pedal set, gearshift paddles and aluminium door pins.
